Although you are not high schoolers, do you think you would benefit and succeed in the independent project? Would you want to participate in the independent project, why or why not?
To me think has a link to our Genius Hour, but with way more depth. Do you think 5th graders are capable of learning independently? Should I try it with my class next year? Support your opinions with

I think it really depends, because you can choose a good subject to learn about, or a subject you'll be distracted with. For example, if you are really into gaming, you probably will be distracted while working.

Yes, I agree DK. I think you shouldn't if your class dosen't want to work and you should do it if they want to learn.

While I agree with you, I also think that we don't have to be like that. We don't need to be always the same, we can change. We can learn about gaming and not be distracted. You just have to be focused and interested in it and find fun in getting those information.

I agree with you DK because you would get distarced to easily playing games, but I also disagree because you could also work on somthing that you don't play the game you create it.

I think it won't work with 5th graders because if we don't want to learn there won't be anybody to make us work.

I would totally work on the independent, because I think it is nice to present what you learned during your free time. I think I would suceed because I like to work on the things that I like. Then, I do good on it because I try hard on something I like to learn about. And that means a suceed. I think you can do this on next year because it is similar to genius hour and it is cool, and I think they would like it a lot on having there own time without the teacher, and learning what they want instead of learning something by the teacher that they don't love it.

I definitely agree with you, that is putting all my thoughts and putting it into words perfectly. I also think that if every single one of us can agree and we are truly interested and motivated to do this, it would work out perfectly. Of course, changes we haven't thought of should be made since we can't think of every single situation right now but I think it definitely would work if we are really interested and are willing to do this

I made a connection to our Genius Hour while I was watching this video like Giovanni did and also, while I agree to DK and Sally, I also disagree because I believe that we can all do it (even though I am not the best person in the world to say this...) if it is something that is our interest and if we truly are curious, interested and willing to research about it.

I really liked this project. I would do it because you get to learn about something you are interested about and to learn what you want to learn about, and work in your passion, because if you are interested in something and you want to learn about something you pay more attention and when you get to class you are not like "i am so tired i don't want to learn about that", you are like "yay, we have class!" so you feel better.

Yes & No. Yes because 2 or more brains work better than 1 brain & no because when we work in group we (some people) just keep talking instead of working, and that makes our group turn in the project late.

I think tat there are two sides; one being it might be hard you are independent and if you are bad in a subject like math that you need every day you need to learn how to do math, especially when your in 5th grade. The other side is that the independent program would be very cool! I would love to do it! But it also depends on the person, so maybe , if you do the independent program you could give people the choice to stick to the normal program or do the independent program.

P.S. Also it could help people who have problems like that boy in the video who had dyslexia and has problems to read and write and in two years could play the piano like he was a piano genius!
