Do you agree with the video? Can kids make the world better? Why or why not? Awhile ago we watched The Story of Stuff and students were asked to reflect on the causes and effects of our behavior and lifestyles. Alejo, DK, and João just finished their video of cause and effects. Please check it out and let them know what you think. In math class students can choose an activity from the "Your Choice" menu. Here are some students' videos they created to teach their peers and other students about finding area or volume, graphing, or other math content from Unit 9. What feedback can you give to the students that shared their videos? Here is the link to the pan balance interactive we used in class today. Try playing around with it to figure out the weights of the different shapes. There are different sets you can try. There are two other versions as well, try them below.
Pan Balance with Numbers Pan Balance with Expressions Pan Balance with Shapes Have fun exploring! This video is inspirational to me because the little boy in it took the negative energy from bullying and put it toward something positive. This also relates to the assembly today, be a peace maker. Please share a time you had to be a peace maker in the comment section. Last week while I was out of school the students worked on a cross curricular World Cup project. Take a look at a few pictures over the course of the week. Great job 5A and thank you Teacher Andrea! |
