Students in 5A are in the midst of creating their math videos. Each partnership choose a math lesson and had to go through the whole flipped process. They started with identifying the learning objectives and important information to teach in order for others to learn the objectives. After planning students organized their presentation's order by making a graphic organizer. Once their plans were complete students had the green light to create their presentations. Finally, after the presentation was completed and after lots of practice running through, students recorded their videos! Here is the first student video made by Soyoun and Sarah. What do you think? 5A students--Did you like creating your own flipped lesson? What was challenging for you? What was easier for you? Respond in the comment section.

Hi Soyoun and Sarah! This is Ms. Kovacs from Germany! I am a 3rd and 4th grade math teacher at an international school here. I really enjoyed watching your video. You used several different examples and strategies to find equivalent fractions which will help all different kinds of learners. The 'Try It' section is also a great idea that will help the students practice what they learned. The closure of your video was excellent! It is always very important to remind the students of the initial learning objective. I can definitely use this is my classroom. GREAT JOB!

i think it's a very good idea to make our own videos because that is a oportunity to show the class how we explain in our own words.

I really liked the idea of making a video because we learn from making the video

Oooops, forgot some parts that I needed to put. It was challenging for me to organize the plan for the Prezi, so my group could already be doing the video. It was easy for me to understand what the units we were doing were about. I really liked doing the prezi with my group ( D.K, Enzo, and Nicholas). I hope I helped my group.

I really loved the idea of making our own videos and I realized how difficult it was to "flip" the lessons. It was very difficult "animating" the things to show how to solve a problem.

I liked to flip the lesson, but it was hard to make the prezi. The easiest thing was to plan the prezi.

Its good, you guys worked really well. What I`ll say isen`t about the video, and I know it is not your falt, but the noise kind of made it be hard to understand (but it is not your falt).

Yes I liked you doing this project. The challenging part was the reacerch about the lesson. The easier part was to put the reaserch, and picture ect ( making the prezi).

I agree with Mr. Hamada, putting your video onto your site is a great idea. Just follow the directions I included in your email (or watch the video under assignments). Ask me if you have any questions.

I think you did a wonderful job in explaining equivalent fractions! There is only one thing I would suggest to you in the future if you are going to execute your videos in English and that is to be sure your grammar is correct. Great Job!!!! (from Mrs K's Aunt Susan in South Carolina (former English teacher))

Hi guys, as a drama teacher in Qatar, I appreciate the lack of stutters and pauses in your presentation. Practicing with notes definitely helps. I find I learn the most when I teach something and hope you had the same experience. I have to agree with Mrs. K's Aunt Susan. When you are giving a presentation, double check your grammar with as many people possible. Keep up the good work! Mrs. Gravelle de Ballara, Doha, Qatar

Hey Soyoun and Sarah! Fantastic work on your flipped math lesson and I think you are well on your way to making even better lessons in the future. Your lesson flowed very easily (introduction, lesson, practice and conclusion) and I liked that you didn't just read what was written, but also explained things in your own words with examples. I look forward to seeing other videos done by Mrs. K's class.

Soyoun and Sarah, congratulations on your first video! It's great. I can see that you worked a lot of time doing the planning and it was really productive. It is good that you included more than one way to solve a math problem. Next time try to record it on a quiet environment. Keep up the good work.
